RP: Not the most marry wedding party.
Date: June 13, 2005 Characters: Theo, (Padma and Parvati mentioned), Verity, Montague, Terry, Blaise Location: Patil Manor - Mumbai Private/Public: Private Rating: G Warnings: None Summary: Theo, Padma and their guests arrive in Mumbai Completion: Complete
It was just after noon that they arrived in Mumbai, Blaise and Montague grumbling about the early hour, while Theo was mostly bothered by the intense heat that met them. Not that it really was the heat that was the problem, Theo was just not in a good mood anymore. Not since his sources had told him about the message outside of the Silver Serpent yesterday.
How the fuck could Snape screw them over so royally? When he had been the one to lecture and teach them about house loyalty? Ironic that the man that taught them most about loyalty was the one to turn around and show them that loyalty didn't exist. Personally Theo couldn't be anything other than regretful of his decision to put his arse on the line to save Snape. Why should he have risked anything when Snape was not even willing to protect his own former students?
And why should he ever care to be loyal again when the turn out was so poor? No, he would learn this lesson too – from now on his only loyalty was his family – Padma and Verity – and Parvati and Montague as a result. No one else – not even Adrian or Draco or Blaise as they would always be able to fend for themselves. They would survive, and he would never betray them unless his own life was in danger. But he would just not risk anything for them either. Not unless he had to. Nothing that didn't gain himself or that could be used to his own benefit. He'd tried to live like that once, but failed as Snape's lessons had weighed too heavily. Now they wouldn't.
Still, in spite of his disappointment and anger, he'd tried not to let his mood show, as he didn't want to ruin the trip for Padma. It was her trip, more than his, her wedding as he'd had his. No, he would not let his mood show, even if hiding things from her was getting harder by the day. Maybe that was why he felt slightly relieved when her relatives came and whisked her and Parvati away as soon as they opened the door, leaving the rest of them with house elves to take care of them and place them in their rooms.
As they ascended the stairs and was lead to their rooms, he caught a glimpse at Montague. He looked...tense. Not that it was a surprise, if Snape was caught he'd be screwed, and somehow Theo didn't think he'd want to be tied closer to the Death Eaters. Blaise wasn't in the best mood either, but right now Montague was more important. Blaise would always survive, and his loyalty to Rodolphus was strong. Montague was another matter.
Besides, if he would ever be able to protect Verity, then protecting Montague was vital too. He would have to try to talk to him soon.
'Mister, mister, your room, mister,' the elf said, as if she'd tried to catch his attention for some time.
He smiled at her. 'Thank you. Can you tell me when Padma will arrive?' he then asked.
The elf looked at him in surprise, then confusion, then wideeyed shock. 'No mistress Padma!' she said sounding very offended. 'Mistress Padma good Mistress, she not improper! Bride see Groom on final ceremony, then share room, not before!'
She crossed her arms, determined, and Theo nearly growled his dismissal of her. It was probably the first time in years he'd neglected to thank a house elf, but right now he couldn't care less.
This was not a good start!
