RP: Money is Money
Date: 4 December 2005
Characters: NPC- Randall Johnston, Seamus Finnagan
Location: Hogsmeade
Private/Public: Public
Rating: PG-13 possibly R
Warnings: Violence, Mugging
Summary: Randy needs money and who is Seamus to him anyway?
Completion: Complete

Randy looked up at the front of the pub and sighed slightly, scratching his chest. He hadn't been to the Brooms since his days at Hogwarts and he likely wouldn't be back. This wasn't really his usual gig, but money was money and so what did he care? If someone had a problem with the proprietor, then it was her deal, not his.

He walked through the door and looked around, glad to find it mostly empty. He went to the bar, ordered a lager and sat down, waiting until the other customers had left. Once they had he cast a repelling charm on the door and walked up to the bar. Only one worker- it was a mid-week day after all.

Pulling his wand he waited for the man to turn around.

It had been a long, slow night at the pub, and Seamus was just ready to go home. He'd watched the hours slowly tick by, and now that it was eleven o'clock, he couldn't be more happy to lock up. He heard someone approaching the bar, and he turned, expecting it to be the last customer ready to pay his tab.

When he saw that the man had his wand drawn, Seamus whipped out his own wand more quickly than even he realised he could, pointing it at the customer.

"What're you doing, mate?" he asked, a bit of a warning in his voice.

Randy's jaw clenched when the man drew his wand so quickly, it was only his quick reflexes that allowed him to block the body bind sent his away. Almost immediately he fired off an 'expelliarmus' followed by a body-bind. "You're getting robbed, mate," he said with a little bit of an attitude, watching as the man struggled on the floor. He picked him up and tied magical ropes around the man until Randy was sure he wasn't going anywhere, or making any noise.

After casting a couple more privacy spells (no need to alarm the girls upstairs, they could be a right pain) he circled Seamus a couple times. "Where do you keep the money?" he asked the man.

Seamus glared up at the man and kept his mouth shut, not giving the man the satisfaction of hearing him respond. Instead he just sat still (because he had no choice) and stared straight ahead, stubbornly deciding not to respond to the man at all.

Effing bastard thought he could rob from Rosie. Who the fuck was this guy anyway? Seamus sure as hell hadn't ever seen him before.

Randall laughed slightly when the barkeep ignored him. "Ah, want to be smart, do you?" he taunted before aiming a firm right hook to his cheek. "You could make it easier on both of us pretty-boy and tell me where the money is, or I can trash your little pub until I find it." He was sneering and leaning down, getting in the mans face. Maybe he could have a little fun while he earned an extra dollar- or two.

Seamus didn't flinch when he saw the man was going to hit him, but that didn't mean he didn't feel it at all. His face suddenly felt like it was on fire, and he knew that one was going to leave a mark for at least a couple days.

Seamus rolled his eyes at the man's comment.

"Fuck you, you pansy-arsed nance."

Randall scowled as the man goaded him. "Not very bright, are ya pretty-boy? Or is it just that you like it rough, huh?" he spat at the man, back-handing him for the insults.

"Now, since you don't want to play nice- how about we just do this the old fashioned way?" Turning around he walked to the display of liqueor on the shelves and shoved until there was a cascade of broken glass and alcohol coming from the shelves.

"Oops, I guess it's not here," he said in mock seriousness. Turning around he saw the drawer that was clearly where they kept the money. "Tell me the pass, Pretty-boy, or I'll keep going. Wasn't too long ago this place seen a bit of fire, was it? That wood's looking pretty nice these days..." He glanced at the man, mildly hoping he'd just give the pass so that he could get out of there without doing too much damage.

The hit caused Seamus to spit blood, but he still didn't give in to the man. If the man wanted the money so damn badly, he would just take it and be off. It was pretty damn obvious where it was, after all.

He tried to dodge all the liquor bottles that suddenly came pouring down around him, but being under a body-bind made that pretty impossible. He yelled out in pain as one of the bottles hit him on the top of his head, and then closed his eyes as the rest shattered around him. Bits of broken glass ricocheted off the ground, and Seamus closed his eyes tight. Thankfully, the glass only came up as far as his arms. Not that that wasn't unpleasant, since he now had tiny cuts all over his legs where the glass had managed to cut through his robes.

He wasn't really feeling all that hurt yet, and Seamus was pretty sure the man was just bluffing about starting a fire. For some reason Seamus felt that the man just didn't have it in him.

"You do know that starting a fire downstairs would trap everyone upstairs, don't you? You'll be wanted for robbery, arson, and manslaughter if you did that. And somehow, I just don't think you want to be responsible for all that. There are witnesses that you were the last person in the pub. Even if you killed everyone in this place, you'd still be found out. We have very loyal patrons." He smirked up at the man, knowing his cheek would probably get him hit again.

Randy growled when the man was still obstinate. It was true- he was being paid a good amount of money for trashing the pub, but he didn't want to have murder on his hands. He didn't know how many women were employed upstairs but even one death was too many for him- at least at that price. Christmas was coming and the money wasn't something he could pass up- it was hard enough to feed his wife and children much less provide suitable gifts for them.

The more he thought about it the more upset he got that he was still in the pub at all. He'd wanted to get this over with quickly. Moving to him, careful not to slip on the liquored floor, he shoved his wand in the other mans throat. "Just tell me the password for the fucking drawer and you can get out of here without too many more injuries," he growled, pressing harder with his wand.

The look on the other man's face made Seamus smirk even more, knowing for sure now that the man didn't have it in him. He definitely wasn't a killer.

The sudden pressure of the wand against his throat made Seamus cough, and he shook his head.

"What are you going to do to me? I already know that you hit worse than my great Aunt." He was lying about the man's hitting capabilities, of course, because he could feel his face already swelling up where he'd been hit the first time. He still wanted to goad the man, though. See what all he could get out of him. It would be useful for the auror report.

He kept his mouth shut, still giving him that annoying little smirk.

Randall was deciding quickly that he didn't like this man at all. When he continued to goad he grew angrier and angrier until his fist as connecting with the mans stomach and knocking the chair back on to the glass-strewn floor. It was as though he'd blanked out and his foot just continually connected with the mans gut as he laid tied to the wooden structure.

"Fuck it mate," he said finally, ripping the drawer clean from the counter it was hidden in. "If you don't want to give me the pass, I'll take the whole fuckin' thing.

"Happy fuckin Christmas, Pretty-Boy," he spat before casting a notice-me-not on himself and walking out of the pub.

It was not often that she left someone else to lock up the pub, but Seamus was experienced and she'd had a head ache most night. In short she needed a bath and bed, and had just finished with the first and was heading for the second when she heard...or was it sensed...something from downstairs.

She frowned, but she'd never been one to doubt her instincts, so she grabbed a robe and padded downstairs, knowing something was amiss even before opening the door to the pub-area.

Gasping, when she saw the mess, she rushed over to Seamus, crouching down next to him. 'Seamus, Seamus, love, are you alright?' What a stupid question, of course he wasn't. She brushed his hair from his eyes, and untied him with a flick of her already drawn wand, utterly relieved when he started to move.

'Shh, lay still. I'll get the new girl to help me take you to the Shack,' she said, knowing the little angel that started working there two weeks ago was upstairs. She didn't have a home, so Rosie'd let her stay, and since it wasn't too late perhaps one of the other girls were there still too? Either way she needed to get Seamus to the Shack, and quickly so from the look of him.

Seamus was coughing and spitting blood when he realised that Rosie had come back downstairs. When he felt the ropes release him, he began to move, still trying to catch his breath. His stomach hurt more than anything he had ever felt before, and in that moment he realised that his injuries were a bit worse than he thought they were when Rosie first came down. He still couldn't breathe correctly, and everything around him was starting to get fuzzy.

He began coughing uncontrollably, and he brought his hand to his mouth, struck with a bit of panic when he realised how much blood he'd just coughed up.

He heard Rosie tell him to lay still, and he blinked up at the light, his vision blurring. He heard Rosie stand and run up the stairs, and then everything went dark.
