Ron had been trailing the man since yesterday, but he was already getting bored. He had a fairly tight routine, for a Death Eater. Got up at six o'clock. Left by seven-thirty to go off and do his Death Eater business (or that was what Ron assumed he was doing, anyway). Back home to the family by five for dinner, and then off to the pub at eight. Frankly, the man was rather boring, and Ron was getting tired of watching him. He was just grateful that the man's home wasn't unplottable, or under a Fidelius charm.
Today would be the day. Ron casually strolled up the pavement across the road from the man's house at five o'clock. Just to make sure that he came home as he did yesterday. His hair was charmed blond, and he'd used a glamour to cover his freckles. He watched out of the corner of his eye as the man walked up his front walk and disappeared into his house. And then he made his way back to the room he'd rented in a small inn at the village nearby.
He'd no idea what his polyjuice form would look like. Intimidating he hoped, but that might be a bit much to ask for. He had gotten it from Draco, ages ago. Before Draco had any real reason to want to keep his arse alive. He wouldn't have been surprised at all if he'd ended up five feet tall, and skinny as he usually was. To his great relief, his hair turned a dark brown, his complexion darkened, and his body bulked up rather nicely. He did lose a bit of height, but he'd had it to spare. He looked nothing like himself.
He was halfway between the man's house, and the pub he seemed to frequent, at eight o'clock. When he saw him coming up the road, Ron rushed over. "Excuse me sir, but I seem to be a bit lost. I'm to meet a friend for dinner, but the directions he gave me are bad. If I want to get to Barney's pub, do I turn right up here at this fork, or left?"
