RP: Setting a trap...
Date: June 22/23 (night-dawn), 2005
Characters: Lucius, Rabastian, Bellatrix, NPCs (among others: Sean, Bridget and Braden Finch-Fletchley)
Location: A small cluster of houses close to Glastonbury Tor
Private/Public: Private
Rating: NC-17 for violence
Warnings: Violence, murder, torture
Summary: Lucius, Rabastian and Bella have some "fun" and sets a trap at the same time.
Completion: Complete

The small group of houses were not far from each other. Utter rural perfection, a small village with people who were all friends on the surface who backtalked each other right and left. Lucius smiled, his mind already thinking three steps ahead of how to get the muggles into one place. They would be in bed soon. Even now they were probably all brushing their teeth and locking their doors, not worried about anything but the status of their bank accounts. Even their cars were gleaming with order and perfection.

Well aside from the fact that only one would work as the others had been easily put out of commission.

Glancing over at Rabastian and Bella he waited for their signal, knowing especially Bella would not be pleased if things happened on anyone elses orders than hers.

When she nodded, they all sent a spell towards the houses, the lights going out in all of them. Even from here they could tell there was confusion, then there was a loud crack as one of the electric poles fell down on one of the houses, crushing it completely.

Panic, screams, Muggles running out into their lawns. Now was the time to act.

Bellatrix has been looking forward to this.

The last while has been annoying for her, especially that debacle with Snape and her husband discovering she had explicitly gone against his orders. A bit of torture would make everything better.

Once they reached the group of houses and got into position, she gave the signal with a wicked smile and they cast the spell to make the lights fail. One of the electric poles fell and crushed part of the house, provoking a chuckle from her throat.

Bellatrix saw a terrified woman glancing around with eyes wide like a deer's and the witch quickly cast the Cruciatus curse, cackling as the Muggle shrieked and fell to the ground convulsing.

Oh, this was going to be fun.

Rabastan smiled as Bella tortured the Muggle, knowing she was enjoying herself. Rodolphus' suggestion was a good one. She would be much easier to control when the trap was sprung.

The Muggles tried to fan out and separate, but a couple of well placed fireballs took care of that. Rab could feel the fear from them as they gathered, then ran toward the house in front of them. He laughed and nodded at Lucius, the plan working perfectly.

It was far too easy.

Braden Finch-Fletchley looked up when he saw the lights go off. He heard an almighty crash, as he heard something fall. A thunderous crash rocked the night, and as he looked out, he saw a power pole fall onto a neighbour's house.

"Mum, Dad!" he called out downstairs, racing to the bottom. The front door was already open, and he could just make out that his mother was heading outside. "Mum, wait!" He didn't know what to think, but there was a massive commotion going on. His father reached him at the door at the same time.

"Mum, come back in," he called, getting a bad feeling about the suddenness of the darkness. He remembered his brother Justin telling him to stay inside if anything strange ever happened. "You remember what Justin..." At that moment, he heard a scream, and clutched at his father's arm.

He could see neighbours scrabbling around the yard. A sudden fireball lit up the night sky, and he realized it had to be wizards.

"Quick, come inside," he shouted, pushing past his father and dragging his mother back in. "Back inside! You'll be safer there."

Lucius nearly laughed at the ease of it all. The Muggles were shouting and running towards the bigger house, a young man calling to them to get in. Curiously, Lucius studied him even as he sent a hex after one of the other muggles, making sure the young man saw the hex.

He seemed afraid, terrified...but he didn't seem surprised.

A relative of the Mudblood then - but too young to be a father, which had to mean brother. Oh this was even better than just the parents. Any parent worth their name would move to save their son - and since running to the police wouldn't work...

His eyes gleaming, he sent a hex after the woman the young man seemed to look to most. She cried quite pleasingly as the equivalent of a whiplash tore through the fabric of her dressing gown.

Bellatrix stepped over the woman she had hexed, moving closer to the house next to where the lightpole had fallen. There was a young man telling everyone to get inside, and she raised an eyebrow curiously. He looked terrified just like everyone else, but he did seem to have a rather good idea of what was going on.

That was the Mudblood's house, wasn't it? Perhaps a relative, a friend? She saw Lucius hex a woman next to the young man and smirked when she cried out. Bellatrix rushed forward, nearly tripping over some Muggle's prone form. She growled low in her throat and looked for Rabastan. She knew that he wouldn't want to be left out of this

Rab turned as Bella growled, observing all that had gone on so far. He saw the fear in the Muggle, but also a comprehension. Ahhh.... must be part of the Mudblood's famly.... excellent...

He waved Lucius over, standing between him and Bella as they walked toward the front door of the house. The Muggles thought they were safe inside. They were about find out they were dead wrong.

Bellatrix stalked up to the door of the house and smashed the door to splinters with a quick wave of her wand. She smirked as she heard someone scream from inside, and quickly glanced at Rabastan and Lucius before going inside.

The living room was empty, but Bellatrix caught a quick glance of someone's shirt as they fled into another room. She tried to hex the Muggle but her spell only made a picture on the wall shatter. Damn.

She followed the Muggles' trail into the next room and found them, all huddling together. Pathetic.

"Filth." She spat before looking at the men by her side. "Who wants to go first?"

There was a satisfaction in seeing the door blown to a million pieces, and Lucius smirked as he moved to follow Bella. With a flick of his wand, the woman who was previously Crucioed was pulled to her feet and half lifted half carried by the magic in through the now non-existent door.

She screamed and cried and had obviously wet herself, which was disgusting but what could be expected from such inferior creatures? By time Lucius got her into the room with the other muggles she collapsed in a heap of sobs, annoying Lucius enough to turn his wand on her, making her scream once more as the magic flowed through her body.

As he let her off, he looked to Bella with a smirk. 'I think there is enough for all of us today, Bellatrix,' he said, pronouncing her name carefully as planned. It would be necessary for their plans that the Mudblood's parents heard their names. Only then would they be able to draw the most important Aurors to a place like this.

Sean Finch-Fletchley had been distraught in the semi-darkness to have been separated from his wife, Bridget. He kept calling out for her, not letting the noise and destruction around him affect him too much. He was terrified, but for Braden's sake, he would be strong.

The chill sound of Bridget's screams struck him to the core, and he saw the white haired wizard pointing a wand at her (well it was similar to the way Justin demonstrated that magic, so he knew they were wizards).

He heard the blond wizard refer to Bellatrix, as he huddled with their neighbours. He would not forget the name. He wanted nothing more than Bridget and Braden in his arms, but he looked up with a defiant stare.

"What do you want from us?" he asked with only the barest hint of fear in his voice. "Why are you doing this?" If he was going to die, then he would do so with dignity, not cowering in fear.

Lucius smirked when he heard the question, seeing the defiance in the man's eyes. This was the one who had been at the door with his son - which meant this was the father of the mudblood - the one who would be left to run.

He walked up to him, making sure the man got a good look at him as he ran his wand along his cheek. 'We want you to scream,' he said with a sneer. Adding, as nearly a hissing malicious whisper. 'Crucio.'

Sean saw the maliciousness in the wizard's face. The utter contempt and disgust. He breathed heavily, feeling Bridget clutching at his dressing gown as she cried. His arm instinctively went out to her, clutching at her as he faced him. He wouldn't scream, not for anyone.

He didn't have time to take a breath as he felt searing pain ripple through every nerve and joint. He heard screaming, not realising it was coming from his own mouth as he tried to breathe. He called out for his wife, and for Braden, wanting them to run, and run far.

But the words came out as jibberish as he could feel his chest tightening from too much screaming, and the realisation that this was probably how he was going to die.

Braden didn't have time to think as he heard his father's screams. He pulled his mother away, urging her to stay back. He'd promised Justin he would look after them - would keep them safe when he wasn't around, and he was doing a bloody horrible job.

Without thinking, he threw himself in front of the curse, facing it full in the chest, a blood curdling scream escaping his lips as he hoped against hope his parents would escape.

Rab watched everything unfold with great interest. Reveling in the fear, the screams, the absolute fright, of these insignificant Muggles. He even sneered at the stupid bravery of the young one as he took the curse meant for his father.

He laughed mocking at the boy as he scream, then hexed the nearest Muggle, demonstrating that he hated them all.

Bellatrix watched all that was happening with a perpetual sense of amusement. Lucius did always have a flair for the dramatic, not that she blamed him. When the man began to scream and cry out, she suppressed a shudder of pleasure. There was no need to lose her composure here.

When the boy tossed himself in front of the next curse, she chuckled. Foolish bravery. She hexed him next, eyes dark with satisfaction as he howled in agony. This was going to be a terribly long night for the Muggle scum, but Bella would enjoy every minute of it.

Lucius laughed when the young man threw himself in front of his father, turning instead to the mother as Bellatrix took over the torture of the young man. The woman cowered, pulling her dressing gown tighter around her.

A flick of his wand and she cried out, agony spreading through her body. He wondered if the father would try to save her wife as his son had saved him.

Bridget Finch-Fletchley was already sobbing in agony from what felt like a whip. She was whimpering like a scared puppy. She'd already wet herself from fear. Sheer terror overrode her fear, as she clutched at Sean. She screamed with him as he writhed on the floor as he was under some magical curse, fearful he was close to death.

"Braden!" She screamed as her son threw himself in the path of the curse, instinctively going to follow him. But before she could move, her path was blocked.

Looking up, she saw the hard face of the blonde wizard. He made no attempt to cover his distinctive look, and she let her eyes bore into his as she cowered before him. But a moment later she was back under a curse, the agony ripping through every nerve and fibre. "Sean!" she screamed through clenched teeth, her life slowly flashing before her eyes.

Rab watched this all with amusement. The fear of these Muggles was invigorating, especially the relatives of the Mudblood. He saw the father move toward his screaming wife and lifted his wand.

"Ah ah ah..." he said mockingly, hexing the man but not too much this time. After all, he needed to 'escape' to alert the Aurors to their presence.

Sean felt relief when the curses suddenly stopped, but then he looked up to hear Braden's muffled sobs and saw that he had thrown himself in the way. Crawling up, he reached over for his wife.

The bearded wizard pointed his wand again, a different pain coursing through his body as he clenched his teeth. He couldn't move, and his eyes held urgent panic as he found himself immobilised. Braden's screams were hard enough to hear, and he pleaded with his eyes for them to be left alone.

The muggles were begging - two of them already smelled as they've soiled themselves. Their cries and screams filled the air as they turned their wand on all of them in time, spending extra care on the young one.

It was most pleasing to see the look in the parents' eyes as they tortured their son.

Bellatrix laughed as she turned her wand on one of the men, his cries deafening as she kept the crucio on him - probably long enough to do permanent damage. His mind would never be the same, but then he woldn't be alive long enough. It was nearly a shame.

Watching one of the women try to hide behind a large overstuffed chair, Lucius blew it to bits, his magic gripping her at the ankle and turning her upside down. Her head banged into the floor and she cried out, her still free hands trying to keep the flimsy dressing gown in place to cover her naked form. It was amusing to think that while being tortured to death, they still thought about things like propriety.

Laughing, Lucius flicked his wand, a magical whiplash tearing the dressing gown to pieces and leaving her screaming. Turing to Rab he smiled. 'Maybe we should do the same with all the women here,' he suggested, looking especially at the Mudblood's mother. 'What do you say, Rabastian?'

Of course they wouldn't string her up - not if they needed her to escape. It was still fun to watch her reaction - and he'd mentioned Rabastian's name as well.

'Or maybe a hex is enough?' he added, turning his wand on her and flicking his wrist to make her scream.

Bridget watched as Sean seemed immobilised. The terror coursing through her made focus on one thing only - getting to her family. The blonde wizard turned his wand on her after torturing Mrs Kentish, and she knew that she would soon be in the same situation.

As the blonde man aimed his wand at her again, a short stabbing pain whipped through her as she felt another whiplash against her back. "No!" She screamed, her face falling to the floor as she landed near the coffee table.

As she opened her eyes, she saw a dim light. The remote control for the panic alarm had a constant LED light. Justin had been adamant they install the latest in high technology security in the house, although she thought it was excessive that they put it on an uninterrupted power supply.

She didn't think twice about it now, when pain made her feel as if she was being torn in half. She could feel blood dripping down her arm, but she reached across and pressed the button.

The deafening sounds of the alarm was hopefully enough to distract them. The curse stopped, and she could get her hands on Sean. In the mad rush, she couldn't find Braden, but Sean was pushing her away now, out the back door towards the car.

She turned one last time, hoping to see her son, but she saw nothing, and couldn't hear any more screams over the alarm.

"We have to get to Justin," she said with a shaky voice.

Rab's hands went to his ears at the high-pitched noise. Bella screamed and Lucius growled as he searched for a source. He finaly saw a box against the wall, pointing his wand and destroying it. As the noise died away, he could hear the sound of an Muggle auto starting.

He went to the doorway, watching as the vehicle disappeared. Bella tried to push his way past them, but he shook his head. "Let them go. They will bring the Aurors to us." He turned to the remaining Muggles. "But let's leave them a nice greeting, shall we?"

He walked over and took son by the hair, dragging him out as he commanded Lucius and Bella to kill the others. He pulled the boy to the street, releasing his hair and levitating him near the top of the utility pole. Rab conjured a rather long spike, smiling wickedly. He waved his wand and hurled it upward, biting his lip as he watched the spike inbed itself in the boy's neck. He watched with glee as the boy struggled helplessly, then turned toward the green flashes coming from the house.

The noise was distracting, and it was a pity to let two of them go, but they'd be punished with the sight of their dead son - and the destruction of their house.

Turning around as Rabastian hauled the brother outside, he turned his wand on the remaining muggle's, a smile of utter satisfaction on his face as he cast the first killing curse.

The other watched, wide eyed, then one of them started to scream - a high pitch sound that broke through to the others as they too realised what was happening. Lucius turned to Bella, who smiled before she too turned her wand to the next muggles.

By the time their cries had died with them, Lucius was humming with the satisfaction of a successful hunt.

Levitating one of the lifeless bodies, Lucius left the house waiting for Bella to emerge before they both turned their wands to the house, setting it on fire. They did the same to the houses around it, then moved to set the trap in place.
