RP: I Know What I Want And I Shall Get It All
Date: 23 June 2005 (pre-dawn, about 4am-ish) Characters: Rodolphus Lestrange Location: Glastonbury Tor Private/Public: Public Rating: PG Warnings: None Summary: Rodolphus searches for some lost artefacts that he’s wanted and not so incidentally triggers a trap Completion: InComplete
Rodolphus made his way to Glastonbury Tor in the pre-dawn darkness and paused at the base of the hill. He looked up at the massive structure above him and smiled coolly. He pulled out his wand and settled the bag he was carrying more comfortably on his shoulder. He started up the hill until he came to the first of the wards. It was a simple alert ward and he gave a malicious chuckle.
It took a matter of moments to take the ward down, especially since he was deliberately clumsy about it. To anyone who could feel the ward, it would simply seem like an amateurish effort at being subtle, perhaps the actions of a foolish wizard trying to be clever. He made his way up the Tor to the ruins of the church where he found more wards. Once again he took them down in that clumsy fashion then he walked into the remains of St Michael’s tower.
It wasn’t difficult to locate where Voldemort’s artefacts were. The Dark magic was obvious to him even through the wards. He made his way down into a dimly lit basement until he found the well-disguised trapdoor. He chuckled to himself then he knelt down. He placed his bag on the floor and opened it, pulling out a couple of cases and opening them. Inside each were a variety of blades and other devices, all infused with spells that could be used to detect, identify and disrupt wards and other protective spells.
He picked up the first, a long slender blade, and began the slow process of dismantling the wards. This time he made no effort to disguise what he was doing. He wanted the Order to know what he was doing. He wanted them to realise this was serious and respond with full numbers.
He cast a number of strong shielding spells around himself and then touched the tip of the blade to the trapdoor, raising an eyebrow when it glowed green. He chuckled and activated one of the spells within the blade and the first of the wards crumbled. That would get the attention of the Order. He moved onto the second of the wards, knowing that for every ward he took down or tripped, the panic and fear would be spreading through the Order.
