RP: A trap turns into a battle...
Date: July 23, 2005 (5ish in the morning)
Characters: A whole bunch of people – add your tags
Location: Glastonbury Tor
Private/Public: Very, very public
Rating: NC-17 for violence and death
Warnings: Probably more than could fit…violence, death, torture, hexes…
Summary: A trap slams shut.
Completion: InComplete

There was a feeling of fright and dread in the air already, as well as one of anticipation. Bellow the hill Aurors and Order members were arriving, confused to see each other but all determined, even trying to get the Muggles down from the power lines. Lucius chuckled at their vain attempts, watching them from his position at the hill, hidden beneath an invisibility cloak.

Ensuring with hushed whispered that both Natasha and Darby were masked and turned so that the Aurors couldn't see who they were, Lucius judged the situation, waiting until they were close enough to see them, but far enough that they would still think Natasha and Darby were Bellatrix and Rabastian, thenhe threw off the cloak. Smirking as the three of them stood out in the pale light of the moon, he let go of the lifeless form of one more Muggle, letting it roll down the hill at the people gathered below. Natasha laughed manically – her laugh almost earily like Bellatrix's. He watched the Aurors and soldiers look up, point and scream.

'It's them!' he heard, then they moved – almost as one – up the hill, some running, some moving more slowly.

'Take them alive!'

Utter fools!

A few moments later they were all on the hill, and Lucius raised his wand sending up bright green sparks into the air – only a taste of what would come – then the trap sprung shut around the group, DEs pouring out from every bush and shrub in the area – completely and utterly surrounding the Order members.

It was going to be a fine slaughter tonight.

Lucius snarled as the ground disappeared from under him, rolling and getting up fast, but the sharp pain in his leg still there.

'You'll have to work harder than that, Robards,' he snarled, casting a slashing hex at Robards legs. 'You were always too kind in your spells - to merciful. One day you'll learn that only dead opponents count.'

Robards shook his head and swore, as Lucius rolled and jumping to his feet once more. He managed to deflect most of the slashing curse Lucius sent at him, firing back another reducto, followed closely by a disarming spell.

Robards grasped his leg where the curse had struck him, putting pressure on it to stop the bleeding, not daring taking his wand off his opponent.

Lucius snarled at the hexes thrown at him, but they both missed, Robards aim off because he was too busy nursing his wound.

'Not good enough,' he snarled, casting another whipping charm at the man, this one leaving marks.

Robarts wasn't able to dodge the whipping charm this time around, and he gritted his teeth as he felt the marks rising on his skin.

He stood upright again, and fired a blasting curse and a volley of smaller hexes at Lucius.

The blasting hex just grazed his elbow, doing more damage to his bad knee than to his arm, and Lucius growled as he cast one back in return, followed by a particularly nasty variant of the slashing hex, leaving ragged hard to heal wounds.

Robards was limping now, though he managed to dodge the brunt of the slashing hex Lucius sent at him, though it caught his arm.

Robards curse, and flung a reducto again, aiming directly for Lucius this time rather than the ground, as well as another blasting curse - hoping to knock him off his feet.

His aim was getting worse, and Lucius smiled as he dodged the curses, sending a fire hex at Robards instead.

'Getting better with the hexes - worse with the aim. What's wrong, you're hurting already?'

Robards growled as Lucius taunted him, he wouldn't rise to that man's baiting, no matter how tempting.

He fired a slashing curse this time, followed quickly by a blasting curse and then a disarming spell once more. As much as he hated to admit it, Robards was hurting - he wasn't as young as he used to be.

His hexes were weakening, and even though the blasting curse did hit him, Lucius barely stumbled back. He laughed, even from his sitting position and cast a blasting hex back.

'That's what they're supposed to be like!' he taunted, getting up from the ground.

Robards flew back several feet when the blasting curse struck him, landing flat on his back. He struggled up as quickly as he could rising first to one knee before he pushing himself back up.

He was breathing harshly, as he raised his wand again. This time he fired off a slashing curse again, and a short volley of hexes.

It wasn't even hard to deflect the curses anymore, and Lucius simply strode up to Robards, aiming his wand in a calm, gentleman-like manor.

'I think you need to learn what a real hex is,' he said with a sneer. 'Crucio!'

Robards couldn't remember the last time he had experienced the cruciatus curse, it had been years ago - he was much younger then. But pain was unlike anything he remembered.

He cried out as he writhed on the ground. He fought to focus, to push past the agonizing pain and fight back, but the best he could muster was a weak jelly-legs jinx.

Lucius laughed at the man's weakness, twisting his wand to drive the hex deeper into his system.

'You're a pathetic excuse for a wizard!' he said with glee. 'Maybe that's why you love your Muggles so much.'

Robards writhed on the ground, calling forth all the training and years of experience he had to muster up enough strength and focus to push past the pain of the curse and start to rise to his feet.

Though just as he did, Lucius drove the hex deeper, Robards felt as though his insides were being torn apart, like he was being rent from the inside out.

Lucius was growing bored. Not even the man's screams of pain was satisfying.

Rolling his eyes he lifted the curse, letting Robards start to gain his wits, then he turned the wand back to him.

'Avada Kedavra.'

Smirking, he flicked his wand, levitating the body up in the air then flung it to the tower on the top of the hill where he hung it to display. That ought to give them a scare.
